INCIDENT 59/2021 – AUGUST 6th FRI. 17.14 – WHITE SCAR CAVE, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – CAVE INCIDENT

A visitor (f, 20) slipped at the far end of White Scar Cave, sustaining a lower leg injury.  Show cave staff assessed and treated the casualty’s injured leg and moved her to within 300m of the cave entrance. However, the profile of the passage was such that they were unable to complete the evacuation.  CRO members splinted the casualty’s leg, lifted her onto a wheeled Titan confined-space stretcher and brought her out to the cave entrance. After handing the patient over into the care of YAS paramedics, team members were treated to refreshments at the show cave cafe.
