INCIDENT 29/2023 MAY 2nd TUE. 16.42 HUMPHREY BOTTOM, INGLEBOROUGH, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE. MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A three peaks walker (m, 59) collapsed on the steep path onto Ingleborough at Humphrey Bottom. Almost immediately, his wife began CPR and this was continued by paramedics from the North West Air Ambulance, when they arrived. The first CRO members on scene found that paramedics from a YAS road ambulance were also in attendance. When prolonged CPR proved ineffective, a team vehicle returned the YAS paramedics to the road-head and the deceased walker’s wife, accompanied by a team member, back to Horton in Ribblesdale to meet a family member. Team members then waited on the hill until a police officer could be driven up to complete the formalities. This done, the deceased walker was stretchered down to a team Land Rover, driven to the road-head and handed over to YAS for transport to Harrogate.                                                    FATAL.
