Incident 29/2018 – May 27th Sun 14.23 Waterfalls Trail, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A female walker fell approximately 20 feet down stone steps near Pecca Falls, losing consciousness for a short while. The team were tasked by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist, and located the casualty not far from our rendezvous point. Incident 28/2018 – May 27th Sun. 09.35 Cross Pot, New Houses, North Yorkshire – Animal Rescue

A group undertaking navigation training heard a lamb calling from within Cross Pot, near Horton in Ribblesdale. A small team attended the site, and discovered a lamb stuck on a ledge within the pot. The lamb was brought to the surface, and because it was very weak, was returned directly to the farm, rather than released onto the fell. Incident 27/2018 – May 26th Sat. 16.29 Giggleswick Scar, Giggleswick, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A climber, (male) slipped and fell on the ‘Titter ye not’ pitch at Giggleswick Scar, sustaining a severe injury to his left lower leg as he hit the ground. On arrival, team members escorted the YAS paramedics to the scene, and assisted whilst emergency pain relief was administered. Having dealt with incidents 25 and 26, whilst team members were sorting equipment in the visitor centre car park, the duty controller was approached by 2 walkers seeking advice. A friend had slipped and injured their ankle whilst walking on the cove top! Advice was given, and friends who had remained with the casualty started to walk them to the road.
