Four Three Peaks walkers reported themselves lost on the descent from Ingleborough to Horton in Ribblesdale. Initial attempts to pinpoint their location with W3W and phone find were unsuccessful due to limited phone coverage, however they were able to provide a grid reference which enabled their location to be established. The Team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police after they had been contacted by lost walkers on the summit of Ingleborough. As the team were preparing a response a further call was received to confirm that they were being helped off the mountain by another group of walkers so the team stood down.
NYP requested CRO’s assistance after a member of the public found a person at the base of the cove believed to be deceased. Following confirmation from the Police that this was a fatality, team members assisted with the evacuation of the deceased from the scene and passed onto the undertaker. FATAL Volunteer hours:Â 70
