Incident 36/2026, Thursday 4th June 13:24hrs. Birkwith, Selside, North Yorkshire

The Team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to an injured walker (M, 54), close to God’s Bridge near Birkwith. He was suffering from cramps and unable to walk any further. We had difficulty making direct contact with the party due to poor signal, so a small party was despatched from our Depot to try and locate the casualty and ascertain the extent of his injuries. The party were found near to Nether Lodge farm, having been able to walk a little further. The casualty was examined by one of our medical team and, requiring no specific treatment other than rest , he was transported back to Horton in Ribblesdale in a team vehicle where he was handed over to the event organisers of his walk.
