INCIDENT 31/2021 – JUNE 14th MON. 21.34 – COWSKULL POT, ADJACENT TO PENNINE WAY, HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – ANIMAL INCIDENT

A farmer’s wife left a message on CRO’s Facebook, saying that a lamb could be heard near Cowskull Pot, on the West side of Pen y ghent. The following morning, a small party of CRO members found a rather heavy sheep in Cowskull Pot, hauled it to the surface and released it, unharmed, onto the fell. Volunteer hours: 10  

INCIDENT 15/2021 – May 9th Sun. 14.21 – Pen y ghent, Horton in Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire. – Mountain Incident

A walker (f, 61) was reported to have taken a fall, breaking an ankle on the path down from Pen y ghent towards Hull Pot, near its junction with the ‘old Three Peaks route’.  As team members responded, YAS advised that an air ambulance had collected the patient and was flying her down to meet the road ambulance on Horton Playing Field. The team stood down. Volunteer hours: 24  

INCIDENT 13/2021 – Apr. 18th Sun. 19.25 – Ingleborough, North Yorkshire. – Mountain Incident

A family walking the Three Peaks split up, unintentionally, when the parents were too slow for their son (15) coming off Whernside. They decided not to continue the walk and sent for a taxi, only becoming aware that their son was continuing when the taxi driver told them that someone of his description had asked the way to Ingleborough. INCIDENT 07/2021 – Apr. 3rd Sat. 12.55 – B6479 road, South of Horton in Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire. – Local Incident

While driving towards Horton in Ribblesdale, two CRO members, in a team Land Rover, came across a road traffic collision which had occurred only moments earlier. Driving a vehicle marked as an ambulance they felt obliged to stop and offer assistance until the statutory emergency services arrived.
