A Three Peaks walker (f) was reported to have broken an ankle, between High Birkwith and Old Ing, North of Horton. A small team went to investigate, with other members asked to show their availability. When the team Land Rover arrived on scene, the casualty was already in a YAS road ambulance, so everyone was stood down. Volunteer hours 6.

INCIDENT 36/2021 – JUNE 20th SUN. – COWSKULL POT, HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – ANIMAL INCIDENT
A farmer’s wife posted a request on Facebook to rescue a sheep from Cowskull Pot (near the Pennine Way, North of Horton). Team members returning from the previous incident diverted to Horton, but as they were approaching the site, the duty controller received a phone call advising that friends of the farmer would be able to abseil in to the hole and recover the animal. INCIDENT 31/2021 – JUNE 14th MON. 21.34 – COWSKULL POT, ADJACENT TO PENNINE WAY, HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – ANIMAL INCIDENT
A farmer’s wife left a message on CRO’s Facebook, saying that a lamb could be heard near Cowskull Pot, on the West side of Pen y ghent. The following morning, a small party of CRO members found a rather heavy sheep in Cowskull Pot, hauled it to the surface and released it, unharmed, onto the fell. Volunteer hours: 10
INCIDENT 15/2021 – May 9th Sun. 14.21 – Pen y ghent, Horton in Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire. – Mountain Incident
A walker (f, 61) was reported to have taken a fall, breaking an ankle on the path down from Pen y ghent towards Hull Pot, near its junction with the ‘old Three Peaks route’. As team members responded, YAS advised that an air ambulance had collected the patient and was flying her down to meet the road ambulance on Horton Playing Field. The team stood down.
