A passing walker reported that a lamb was stranded in the bottom of Fluted Hole on the South side of Ingleborough. INCIDENT 45/2022 JUN 21st  TUE. 15.50 FLUTED HOLE, NEWBY MOSS, NORTH YORKSHIRE – ANIMAL INCIDENT

A member of the public reported having seen a lamb stuck down a pothole on Newby Moss and provided a grid reference for the location. A small team of CRO members undertook a quick search of the general area and located the lamb, marooned down Fluted Hole. We descended the hole on ropes and the lamb was soon captured, hauled back to the surface and returned to liberty well away…

A walker observed a sheep in the bottom of the entrance shaft of one of the Pillar Holes and e-mailed the CRO Secretary, asking whether he knew who the farmer was and whether he could be contacted to investigate.
