INCIDENT 80/2025. (same day) 18.17 hrs PEN Y GHENT, HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE.

A Three Peaks walker (f,  41) collapsed  near ‘the fingerpost’ at the corner leading on to ‘the miners’ track’ to the summit of Pen y ghent (Taking the clockwise route.). Team members, most of whom had just returned from the previous incident, were taken to the top of Horton Scar Lane by Land Rover, then walked up the hill. The team’s casualty carers were sufficiently concerned at the condition of the casualty that a Coastguard helicopter was requested and authorised by North Yorkshire Police but conditions were too bad for the aircraft even to take off from its base. A Bell stretcher was used to sledge and carry the casualty down to a team Land Rover which then met the YAS ambulance in Horton in Ribblesdale.
