An expeditioner (f, 15) slipped on the seriously slippery limestone pavement at the top of Malham Cove, twisting a knee and dislocating the kneecap. After assessment and pain relief, a team paramedic reduced the dislocation, thus easing the pain, before the casualty was helped into an insulated bag and lifted onto a Bell stretcher. This was carried very carefully from the pavement and sledged or carried down the hill and onto the hardened path where a team Land Rover was waiting to take the casualty to a YAS road ambulance in the main car park, where the rain seemed to have eased a bit.
