North Yorkshire Police asked the team to assist with a Three Peaks walker (m,63) suffering from exhaustion on the descent of Whernside. Team members attended and located the walker on the summit ridge, considerably higher up the fell than the initial information had suggested. The walker was assessed and given fluids and high-energy food, after which his condition improved. He attempted to walk off with assistance from team members, and then was transferred to a Bell stretcher for sledging down the steep face of the fell. On arrival at the team vehicles at the foot of the fell he was was handed over to YAS paramedics for further assessment and any necessary care.
