The team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to three well equipped, uninjured walkers ( f 48, 51, 52) doing the Three Peaks walk who were lost near the summit of Ingleborough in the dark and low cloud with fading head torch batteries. After a discussion with a CRO controller, the walkers were asked to stay where they were and a small party would go and meet up with them and guide them back down to safety.
CROs 2 & 3 took a small party to the foot of Ingleborough, from where they headed up on foot to locate the walkers on the summit plateau. Having found them they were given spare warm clothing and walked down to our team vehicles and returned to their accommodation.

NB. The three ladies did the right thing by calling us early when they became disorientated in the low cloud and waiting in place as requested, rather than wait for their torch batteries to run out and and having to call us out later when they might have been in a more serious condition.
