As members were cleaning the team vehicles and re-organising equipment from incident no 38, which closed at 02.39 hrs, a call was received to a walker (m, 54) who had fallen on the limestone pavement at the top of the Cove, sustaining a head injury. He was cared for by a passer-by (a retired nurse), until CRO’s casualty carers arrived on scene. Their assessment concluded that the patient’s injury was a severe scalp laceration, so he was walked, very gently, to a team Land Rover, but with the option of a stretcher carry if he felt unwell.
As the Land Rover was transporting the patient to meet the YAS ambulance, at the road-head, the duty controllers’ text alerts fired off again . . . . . .
