INCIDENT 32/2022 MAY 14th SAT. 09.48 THE ALLOTMENT, INGLEBOROUGH, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A walker (f, 48) slipped on the path from Sulber to Ingleborough, twisting one ankle and landing badly on the other foot. As she could not stand and was in significant pain with any movement, her companions insulated her and called North Yorkshire Police. Meanwhile, she took her own analgesics.

Two team members drove CRO 4 (the Honda Pioneer) up on to Simon Fell Breast and jogged the 200m to the casualty. While they were assessing the injury, giving further pain relief and splinting the suspected ankle fracture, other team members drove up to near Nick Pot by team Land Rover then carried other equipment to the casualty site. The casualty was carried by stretcher to the Honda and driven down to CRO Base, in Clapham. Here, she was transferred to her own group’s transport for the journey to hospital.
