A fell-runner (f, 48) slipped on a rocky section of the bridleway onto Ingleborough, sustaining a possible fracture and deep laceration to one knee, plus a shoulder injury. She and her partner were also very cold when team members arrived on scene. After the administration of pain relief and the application of an ‘Israeli Dressing’, the patient was put into an insulated ‘casualty bag’ and carried by stretcher about 600m to a team Land Rover. She was driven gently down to Ingleton, to be transferred to a YAS road ambulance for the journey to hospital.
