A Three Peaks walker was reported missing, several hours after saying he could not go on from Whernside, but would return to Horton, because of a knee problem. He was alone, with no map etc.. Incident 44/2016 – Jun 18th Sat. 10.30 – Fern Pot, Newby Moss, Ingleborough, North Yorkshire – Animal Rescue
A fell-runner reported seeing a lamb, about 10m down into Fern Pot, but couldn’t recover it safely, on his own. A small team was able to do this and, with no ewe taking an interest, returned the lamb to its owner. Volunteer hours: 8
Incident 42/2016 – Jun 12th Sun. 19.03 – Storrs Common, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue
A woman (79) slipped and fell on Storrs Common, having just completed the Waterfalls Walk. A local man called for an ambulance and alerted the team due to the location, knowing access would be difficult for an ambulance. Team members carried out initial treatment of the woman, and splinted her for arm and suspected shoulder injuries, before stretchering her to a waiting ambulance in Ingleton. Volunteer hours: 18
