A visitor (m, described as ‘big and heavy’) fell on the stepped path, landing on an unrelated visitor (f, 45). Although he walked away, she sustained a suspected fractured clavicle and grazes to her head. North Yorkshire Police asked for CRO’s assistance by searching Yordas Cave and immediate area for a person (m, 50) reported to be missing from home and ‘at risk’. No-one was found, nor was there any evidence that he had been there. Volunteer hours: 7

A woman, walking up the steps next to Pecca Falls became unwell, and lost consciousness. The team were tasked by Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist crews in extricating the casualty. Whilst the casualty was treated by YAS and air ambulance paramedics, the team prepared a stretcher, and then carried the casualty to a team vehicle via the old Pecca slate quarry. A male walker began to suffer chest pain and dizziness whilst ascending Little Ingleborough, beyond Gaping Gill. The team were called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service, and a vehicle was immediately dispatched from our base in Clapham, fortunately staffed following a meeting that morning.
