The team were called to a walker in a D of E party (f, 16) with back and hip injuries, on the fells above Stockdale Farm. On speaking to the group leader, the conroller established that the casualty had not sustained a fall or injury, but had aggravated a pre-exisitng condition and having sat down to rest, was unable to mobilise again.
A team was called out to assist the casualty. Once located, she was placed in a stretcher and carried down to Stockdale Farm, where she was assessed by a team doctor. Having confirmed that the casualty did not require hospital treatment, she was assisted into the D of E party’s minbus to return with her group.
