INCIDENT 11/2026. FEBRUARY 23rd MONDAY 12.58hrs. WARRENDALE KNOTTS, SETTLE, NORTH YORKSHIRE

The Team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to assist a local farmer with a pregnant sheep stuck on a ledge, on a small crag on the west side of Warrendale Knotts above Settle. The sheep had apparently been there a few days and had not self rescued. Following a reccy of the site with the farmer it was agreed we would attend the following morning to help the animal.…

INCIDENT 06/2023 FEB 7TH SAT. 14.42 WESTERN END OF WARRENDALE KNOTTS, SETTLE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – ANIMAL INCIDENT

A heavily pregnant ewe was stranded on a ledge at the Western end of Warrendale Knotts, above Settle. The farmer left it, hoping it would self-rescue when it became hungry, but there seemed to be enough grazing to keep it going. After three days, he called CRO via North Yorkshire Police. A small team attended and one member was lowered to the ledge. He distracted the sheep with feed nuts…
