A Three Peaks walker (m, 45?) rang an acquaintance in Horton, to say that he had taken a fall while descending from Ingleborough and was bleeding significantly from a head-wound. INCIDENT 70/2018 – Dec. 26th. Wed. 17.56hrs – Ingleborough summit, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A walker (m, 52) reported himself (and dog) ‘lost in fog and pitch black’, near the Ingleborough summit shelter. He was escorted down to a team vehicle, near Crina Bottom, to be brought off the hill. Avoidable. Volunteer time: 17 hours

A father reported that his daughter – ‘an experienced walker’ – had become separated from the rest of her party on Ingleborough. She had not been heard from for an hour and was believed not to have reached the summit, so the father was going to look for her. 24 minutes later, the CRO Duty Controller was advised that she had been found and that both were on their way…

Incident 34/2018 – Jun. 2nd Sat 14.25 Baxengill Gorge, Waterfalls Trail, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A visitor (m, described as ‘big and heavy’) fell on the stepped path, landing on an unrelated visitor (f, 45). Although he walked away, she sustained a suspected fractured clavicle and grazes to her head.  After immobilising the injury and administering pain relief, team members walked her gently to a YAS road ambulance for transport to hospital.
