Settle Health Centre requested CRO’s assistance, through North Yorkshire Police, when nursing staff were unable to reach vulnerable patients at home in Stainforth and Bentham because of overnight snowfall. A team Land Rover and crew took nursing staff to Stainforth but then learned that those in Bentham had managed without CRO’s assistance. North Yorkshire County Council asked for availability of all North Yorkshire teams to provide a crewed vehicle for county wide response, if required, during the anticipated heavy snow.
