A walker (f, 61) put her boot into a narrow gap between rocks, then slipped, breaking the ankle, while walking on a path from the head of Watlowes (‘The Dry Valley’) to Water Sinks, South of Malham Tarn. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance arrived first and its paramedics treated the extremely painful, openĀ fracture. Team members helped lift the casualty onto a scoop stretcher, then carried her to the helicopter for the flight to hospital. A team Land Rover took the casualty’s companions to their car at Water Sinks Gate and the team stood down.
