The Team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to a walker (F, 52) in difficulty on Whernside summit. She was suffering from an aggravated hip problem, which was preventing her from walking further. The Team deployed to upper Kingsdale from where we were able to make a rapid ascent up the western (‘rear’) side of Whernside, including access for our ATV to the upper slopes. The casualty was assessed by our Team Doctor and packaged for a stretcher carry back to the waiting team vehicles in Kingsdale. The lady was then transported back to her vehicle at Ribblehead, where she was able to make her way home with friends. We wish her a speedy recovery.
