The team were alerted by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to a report of a walker (M, 61) having fallen and injured themselves near Malham Cove. Unable to contact the injured party directly, team members were despatched to the area to carry out a search of the Cove area. A number of passers-by indicated that they may have witnessed an incident, but the injured party appeared to have ‘self rescued’ and left the scene. Other local enquiries were made in the village without result. Eventually we were able to make contact with the injured party and confirmed that, having cancelled his emergency call, he was safely on his way to hospital for treatment in his own vehicle. The team were stood down.
