The duty controller was contacted by a member of the public who had heard a sheep in distress whilst walking on Newby Moss. Upon investigating he found it to be stuck 10ft down a pothole about 30ft south of Fern Pot and so contacted the team to see if we could help.
A small group of team members was assembled to head up on to the fell, who successfully recovered the sheep and let it loose to rejoin the rest of the flock.
