INCIDENT 33/2024 MAY 20th MON. 19.51 LECK FELL, LECK, LANCASHIRE.

The team responded to a request from North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) to assist with reports that cries for help had been heard from within one of the many potholes on Leck Fell, which form part of the largest cave system in the UK. The team became part a multi agency response including specialist units from the statutory services Police, Fire and Ambulance. Volunteers from the team were deployed and, using knowledge of the area and the cave systems, checked the entrances to more than 20 potholes. Working with the other services, including the Lancashire Fire & Rescue Drone team, a large area of the fell was searched but no signs of a casualty found. The team was stood down shortly after 01:00 Tuesday morning by Lancashire Constabulary.
