A walker (f, 76) was reported to have collapsed while walking along the side of the Ribble, across from Hornby Laithe bunkhouse, Stainforth. Members scouting the exact location arrived on scene just before a YAS paramedic in his Rapid Response Vehicle. By now, the patient appeared to be recovering, so after assessment by the paramedic, she was walked gently to a stile, then sledged up a steep slope by stretcher to a team Land Rover. Escorted by the paramedic, she was taken to Settle Ambulance Station to meet a road ambulance for the journey to hospital.
