A visitor called the police, saying that his wife was feeling dizzy and sick on the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail and needed mountain rescue. Unfortunately, the call dropped out and NYP could not re-establish contact, but the call’s source was calculated as possibly near Pecca Falls, Thornton in Lonsdale. The CRO duty controller phoned the IWT pay-box and was told that the caller had said his wife had sat down, had a drink of water and was feeling better, so they would continue to Beezleys and return down Oddie’s Lane. A team Land Rover, with three members, set off up Oddie’s Lane, as a precaution; meanwhile the caller advised NYP that all was well, so the vehicle and crew returned.
