Meanwhile another runner (M 30) competing in the 3 peaks fell race fell and became unconscious on the first steep descent of the summit. He suffered facial injuries and regained consciousness fairly quickly. A CRO member who was on the summit checked him over and radioed for more assistance, the party heading up Whernside diverted to this more serious incident. YAA arrived on scene soon after, he was assessed by the helimed paramedics and loaded by team members into the helicopter. The casualty from the previous incident was meanwhile stretchered down to the waiting helicopter and transferred down to Bruntscar and then this casualty was flown to Preston hospital for further assessments and treatment
