INCIDENT 26/2019 – Apr. 27th. Sat. 13.20hrs – Whernside, North Yorkshire – Mountain Incident

A runner (M 52) was treated by CRO team members after falling and hearing a crack, he was transferred to the Hill Inn for forward transport. Whilst dealing with this incident, another runner (M 49) competing in the 3 peaks fell race, suffered a severe pain in his right knee on the summit and was unable to continue or walk. A CRO member on the summit checked him over and radioed for assistance to carry him off. He was stretchered to a waiting helimed involved in incident 27 and flown down to Bruntscar, where he was transferred to a waiting St john’s ambulance and returned to Horton
