As they were returning to Horton in CRO 3 Land Rover, having delivered team members to stand by for the race going over Whernside, two members saw a cyclist almost taking a bend in the road and landing over a wall near Selside. As they were in a vehicle marked ‘Ambulance’ they stopped to see whether they could help. After consultation, they loaded the bicycle and helped the cyclist into the vehicle, taking him to Horton. After being assessed by a team member who is a paramedic, the cyclist was taken to his own car with a recommendation to have his suspected rib injury investigated more closely at a hospital.
