A farmer’s son (23) slipped down a muddy slope while looking for a missing sheep at dusk, near the path into Stainforth Scar Wood from Winskill. He thought he had dislocated a shoulder and was unable to scramble back up the bank. He phoned for an ambulance, then rang a parent, who was able to help him to their car and take him to hospital. As soon as they were safely on their way, they called YAS to stand the ambulance down, but this did not reach CRO until a number of members had gathered at the road-head, by Winskill Stones.
