Incident 34/2018 – Jun. 2nd Sat 14.25 Baxengill Gorge, Waterfalls Trail, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue
A visitor (m, described as ‘big and heavy’) fell on the stepped path, landing on an unrelated visitor (f, 45). Although he walked away, she sustained a suspected fractured clavicle and grazes to her head. After immobilising the injury and administering pain relief, team members walked her gently to a YAS road ambulance for transport to hospital. Volunteer hours: 38
Incident 33/2018 – Jun 2nd Sat. 09.36 Yordas Cave and area, Thornton in Lonsdale, North Yorkshire – Local Incident.
North Yorkshire Police asked for CRO’s assistance by searching Yordas Cave and immediate area for a person (m, 50) reported to be missing from home and ‘at risk’. No-one was found, nor was there any evidence that he had been there. Volunteer hours: 7
Incident 32/2018 – May 30th Wed. 11.22 Waterfalls Trail, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue.
A woman, walking up the steps next to Pecca Falls became unwell, and lost consciousness. The team were tasked by Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist crews in extricating the casualty. Whilst the casualty was treated by YAS and air ambulance paramedics, the team prepared a stretcher, and then carried the casualty to a team vehicle via the old Pecca slate quarry.
