Two walkers (m,27 f,25) with a dog, contacted police for guidance when they became disoriented whilst walking off Ingleborough. Although well equipped, they had lost confidence in their navigation in the dark. 4 walkers (3m, 25, 1f, 14) with 2 dogs became disoriented in mist whilst walking on Ingleborough. The walkers were able to contact the police via mobile roaming, but were unable to give an accurate location. Incident 98/2016 – Dec. 29th Thu. 13.50 – Ingleborough, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue.
A walker (m,38) slipped on ice descending from Ingleborough on the steep section towards the Hill Inn, and sustained a suspected dislocated knee. Team members responded and provided pain relief, before moving the casualty on a stretcher to flatter ground on Humphrey Bottom.
