Incident 54/2017 – July 23rd Sun. 20.00 – Horton in Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue.

An hour after the other three members of their sponsored Three Peaks Walk group had said that they were ‘ten minutes behind’ them, the ‘organiser’ reported that the final two walkers (m, f) had still not reached Horton Station. Incident 53/2017 – July 22nd Sat. 17.08 – Waterfalls Trail, Near Beezley Falls, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue.

A walker (f, 14) slipped on the path, near Beezley Falls, sustaining an injury to her right ankle. A YAS paramedic was soon on scene, quickly followed by CRO members who were at the Depot, clearing up after the Clapham Street Fair. The patient was ‘packaged’ and carried to a road ambulance for transfer to hospital. Volunteer hours: 27

Incident 50/2017 – July 19th Wed. 15.52 – Malham Cove, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue.

A walker (f, 35) crossed the beck at the foot of the Cove and began ascending the climbers’ route up to the East Wing, believing it to be the path to the top. Two thirds of the way up, she felt unable to continue or to retreat, so rang for help. Two CRO members attended, locating the walker and one of them ascended to escort her off, to the side…
