The team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to 3 walkers (2m, 1F) who had become disorientated in mist on the summit of Ingleborough. The party were otherwise uninjured but unable to find their way safely from the summit plateau to the correct path for their downward journey. Our Duty Controller was able to contact the group, and by use of our Phone Find tool to find their exact location. The party were ‘talked off’ the summit and onto the Horton path. Our controller then monitored their progress down until they were safely off the hill. This party did the right thing contacting us before their situation got worse. Thankfully they were able to sort themselves out with a bit of guidance.
