The team were asked by our colleagues from Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) to assist with an ongoing search for a dog which had fallen into a rift in a quarry. A small group of our caving members, and some members of our extended cavers list, attended the site to offer assistance. Despite extensive digging, and descending into the rift by rescuers, the dog, unfortunately, could not be found. As darkness came the group were stood down. UWFRA were left to monitor the situation in case of developments. We wish the dog and its owners well.
