The Team were asked by North Yorkshire Police to assist with rescuing two women whose car had become stuck fast in a snow drift on the minor road across Scotsthrop Moor, above Settle. Neither the police, nor any recovery organisation were able to help. As the women were cold, two members attended in a team vehicle, using snow chains due to the conditions. We collected the women and transported them back to their nearby accommodation. We did not recover the vehicle which was left in-situ.
Note – the road in question is a single track lane, which had previously been closed and was barely passable. Please follow the advice of the Police and in these current conditions please stay on main roads and do not venture onto minor lanes if at all possible. Beware of following Sat Nav instructions.
