INCIDENT 25/2024. APR 24TH WEDS 16.27. SHORT GILL, BARBONDALE, DENT, NORTH YORKSHIRE

Just as the incident at Giggleswick Scar was concluding the Team were again called; this time by Cumbria Police to assist with a child (M, 10) who had sustained an injury whilst out with a group in Barbondale. The boy had apparently slipped and injured his thigh, and was unable to continue walking. Members were diverted from the earlier incident, supported by other members who were able to respond, and directed to the scene. The party was quickly located and assessed by one of our paramedic members. The casualty was then sledged in a stretcher to the nearby roadside, and transferred to the care of  North West Ambulance who had attended the scene. Members were stood down, returning to base to clear up from a long afternoon and also for our weekly training evening.
