INCIDENT 61/2024. AUGUST 24th 13.42hrs. HULL POT LANE, PEN y GHENT, HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE

The team were called by North Yorkshire Police to assist a walker (F, 43) who had tripped whilst on a walk with friends on Pen Y Ghent and sustained a painful knee injury. She had managed to walk a short distance with her companions but was now in too much pain to continue. Team members drove up to the scene in team vehicles and, having assessed her injury, treated her and splinted the knee. She was then transferred back to Horton in a team vehicle, where the party were able to collect their own vehicle and drive to hospital for full assessment. We wish her a speedy recovery.

We are grateful to the owners of the Pen y Ghent cafe for use of their car park for members during this incident as Horton was very busy with safe parking at a premium!
