Incident 27/2017 – Apr. 30th Sun. 17.32 – Whernside, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue.

The team were called to a walker (m,78) suffering a lower leg injury, and unable to make progress on Whernside. Contact with the caller established that the casualty had health conditions which were impacting on his ability to continue walking, and had become very cold. Two team vehicles went to the aqueduct in Little Dale and team members proceeded up the hill to reach the casualty. After assessment by a team doctor, the casualty was carried on a stretcher back to the team vehicles and then conveyed down to Ribblehead to a waiting road ambulance. Volunteer hours: 49
