A paraglider pilot (f, 53) made a very hard landing near Tow Scar, Kingsdale, and was then dragged along the ground by her canopy, sustaining very painful rib and possibly back and pelvic injuries. YAS sent an ambulance crew and called CRO. The paramedics were first on scene, gave pain relief and, together with the team doctor, assessed the patient before she was placed in a vacuum mattress then onto a stretcher. With the wet land deemed too prone to damage to use a Land Rover, team members carried and wheeled the stretcher almost a half mile down to the road for the patient to be transferred to the road ambulance.
