Alert – Mar. 17th Sat. 20.15 Three Peaks area, North Yorkshire – Alert only

Four walkers (all m) were reported overdue on a Three Peaks walk, with a strong, bitterly cold wind blowing the snow. They had left the Station Inn, Ribblehead, at 07.00, being seen to head towards Whernside. Fortunately, they returned to the Inn (thirteen and a half hours later), just as the duty controller was phoning other pubs in the area. Volunteer time: 15 minutes  

Alert – Mar. 4th Sun. 16.53 Keld Head, Kingsdale, North Yorkshire – Alert only

A member of the public found unattended caving equipment near the resurgence at Keld Head, and raised concerns with the police. The duty controller attended the site with a constable, and after making enquiries established that the items had been left the previous day, and no persons were at risk. The items were removed so they could be returned to the owner. Volunteer hours: 2
