As the team were returning to base from the previous incident one of the Assistant Controllers (Underground) who was staying at the Red Rose CPC hostel, at Bull Pot Farm, alerted the Duty Controller that a party of four cavers (all M in 50s) were overdue from a traverse trip in the Easegill system between Cow Pot and Top Sink. We were subsequently called by Cumbria Police to assist with searching for the missing party.
Team cavers initally went to check the notified entry and exit points to the system, as well as other possible exit points had the traverse been cut short. The missing party were met on route across the fell, having exited the system on their own, albeit somewhat later than anticipated. They were escorted back to Bull Pot Farm safe and well.
Our thanks once again to RRCPC for hospitality at Bull Pot Farm.
