Three inexperienced walkers, attempting the Three Peaks, reported themselves lost, but uninjured on Ingleborough. A walker on an evening excursion from Settle to Ribblehead became lost after descending from the summit of Pen-y-ghent. During a brief and muffled telephone call, the CRO Duty Controller was only able to establish that the lost person had a fading torch battery, was beside a dry-stone wall and most likely located some distance from the summit in the direction of Horton-in-Ribblesdale.
