Following a report of a sheep down a fluted shaft on Newby Moss, a small team were mobilised. to recover the stricken animal. They accessed the site in CRO 1 and CRO 4. One team member descended the shaft and was able to capture the sheep and encourage it into the animal haul sack. Both were then carefully brought to the surface and the sheep released, a little hungry but otherwise unharmed.
