INCIDENT 65/2021 – AUGUST 20th FRI. 10.06 – MEALBANK QUARRY, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – ANIMAL INCIDENT

A farmer had seen one of his sheep, apparently stranded on a ledge of Mealbank Quarry, on Sunday. He kept trying to tempt her back to safety by shaking a bag of sheep nuts, but eventually asked for CRO’s assistance. A small team set up an abseil and one member descended. His arrival on her ledge was sufficient motivation for the sheep to overcome any acrophobia and she scrambled safely to the floor of the quarry, then returned contentedly to the pasture.
