INCIDENT 56/2025. JUNE 28th SAT (same day) 21:02hrs (same time!) INGLEBOROUGH, NORTH YORKSHIRE

Whilst the Duty Controller was starting incident 55, a second call came from North Yorkshire Police (2 seconds between the police messages on the log!) requesting assistance to investigate a report of an injured walker (F) heading very slowly towards Horton. A passing member of the public had seen the party moving slowly trying to get back to their vehicles in Horton and had been asked to call for Mountain Rescue when they came back into mobile signal. Unfortuntely the reporting person did not get any contact details for the injured party.

The team were deployed for a search of the footpaths on all possible routes off from the last known position of the injured person, but no one was found. After discussion with North Yorkshire Police the team stood down pending a further call for assistance, allowing redeployment once again….

Volunteer hours: 24

Note: If you do come across someone who you think might need our assistance when out in the hills, or who asks you to call for us, please get some contact details for the injured party. We can then make contact directly with them, if only to confirm they have got down under their own steam and are home safe.
