CRO team members, on route to incident number 49, were among the first on scene after a traffic incident on the B6479 about half a mile north of Horton in Ribblesdale. They found a motor-scooter rider lying in the road – no other vehicle was involved. Having recognised the seriousness of the chest injury that the rider had sustained, CRO team members supported him until an event paramedic arrived from a sponsored walk and they continued to give assistance until the arrival of Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Yorkshire Air Ambulance teams. CRO team members also assisted with traffic control and carrying the injured rider to the air ambulance.
