A three peaks walker had fallen slightly behind his companions during their descent from the summit of Ingleborough. Whilst jogging to catch them up the walker tripped, fell and sustained a fracture to his left leg. His foot had become significantly misaligned. Two CRO team members and a Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) paramedic were able to travel to the injured walker in CRO’s 4×4 buggy. The YAS paramedic gave the injured walker pain relief before bringing the broken foot back into alignment and applying a splint to support the foot and lower leg. CRO team members then faced quite a long stretcher carry to bring the walker to our team landrovers parked in the vicinity of Nick Pot. The walker was transported down to the road head at Crummack and passed back into the care of YAS paramedics.
