A female walker slipped and fell descending Pen-y-ghent sustaining a suspected fracture to her right ankle. She was carried by passers-by to within 500m of the road before being met by team members, who were called by North Yorkshire Police.
The patient was treated by team casualty carers and given pain relief before a YAS paramedic took over treatment. Team members splinted the casualty’s leg and carried her by stretcher down to a road ambulance waiting at the roadside.
